Liverpool, U.K. — October 2024 — Smaller Earth's leading cultural exchange brands, including Camp Leaders and Resort Leaders, are thrilled to unveil a comprehensive overhaul of their websites, with over a dozen accompanying country-specific domains.

Camp Leaders, Resort Leaders, American Camp Co, Canago, and Smaller Earth have all had new bespoke websites created by our in-house tech team, with Camp Canada and Smaller Earth Group soon to follow.

These ambitious projects represent a big step forward in Smaller Earth’s commitment to providing the best possible experience for applicants, partners, and the wider summer camp industry.

This digital transformation, which comes after rounds of company-wide engagement and collaboration, is part of a nearly £250,000 ongoing investment in ensuring that these brands meet and exceed the expectations of applicants looking to participate in work programs abroad.

The redesigns simplifies the application process, improve user interface (UI) and user experience (UX), and keeps the company at the forefront innovation within cultural exchange, a key value for Smaller Earth.

A seamless experience for applicants

Smaller Earth’s brands are known providing young people with life-changing work opportunities globally.

From exploring roles to preparing them for their placement, the new websites offers a new experience that guides applicants through every part of their new journey.

Hiring a dedicated UI/UX team displays the company’s focus on putting users at the centre of everything we do.

Key features include cleaner navigation, faster load times, enhanced mobile optimisation, and a streamlined, user-friendly application form/process.

These changes reflect the brand's commitment to delivering a modern, responsive platform in today’s digital-first generation.

Global collaboration and stakeholder engagement

This global, company-wide project involved working closely with Smaller Earth’s country offices.

Engaging colleagues throughout development was important to ensure the new websites met the unique needs of the audiences in each country and that each got the best possible start.

From designing region-specific content to personalising programmes, each brand’s website delivered a brand-consistent, localised experience.

A continuing investment in innovation

These website changes marks the latest step in Smaller Earth’s ongoing investment in digital innovation.

With a focus on staying ahead of trends, the company is committed to improvement and our in-house technology team are always developing all areas of the customer journey, with further sizeable changes to soon be announced for our applicant-facing CRM.

Dean Maddocks, Smaller Earth Group’s CMO, said, “These new websites, coming in Smaller Earth’s 25th year as a business, highlight our commitment to ensuring our applicants have the best possible experience when applying for life-changing cultural exchange placements. We recognise the trust that our applicants place in us to facilitate these opportunities, and we therefore want to ensure that our processes and platforms are the most intuitive, streamlined, and engaging within the industry. These websites are the perfect vehicle to continue to innovate as we move into our next 25 years as a business.”
