[Braselton, GA, USA: 08/11/24] – Camp Collab, the leading summer camp conference hosted by Smaller Earth, celebrated another inspiring edition this year in Braselton, Georgia, with more attendees than ever before.

Held at the scenic Chateau Elan Winery & Resort, Camp Collab 2024 brought together a record number of camp professionals from across the globe for three days of networking, expert-led sessions, and in-depth workshops designed to enhance camp staffing and leadership strategies.

Industry experts in areas such as youth development, camp administration, and mental health shared their insights in well-received presentations and hands-on workshops, reinforcing Camp Collab’s reputation as the foremost summer camp conference.

Among the speakers were renowned figures such as Shoshi Rothschild, founder of In.tent Consulting & Facilitation, Dr. Kim Howell, a leader in empathetic leadership training, and Dr. Matt Pulewitz, an expert in family dynamics and mental health. Each brought fresh perspectives on cultivating a positive camp culture and building resilience among staff and campers.

Ivy Cohen, Camp Leaders Director, states that “Camp Collab was introduced to fill a void in the Camp industry. For years, camp owners and directors were expressing that staffing had become more difficult, yet there was no solution to develop practices around staff recruitment and retention. The Camp Collab intimate setting allows participants to have discussions in a structured environment with their peers and expert speakers with the value add of interacting directly with businesses looking to innovate in the industry. Our goal is that everyone who participates can feel less stress and more strategy around building their summer team. The community that is built and developed over a few short days is the best bonus outcome."

Dean Maddocks, CMO of Smaller Earth Group, noted the extraordinary adaptability and enthusiasm of attendees. “Camp Collab has always been about creating community and fostering innovation within the camp industry. Despite the last-minute shift in location, we saw camp professionals come together with a renewed spirit, focused on driving forward best practices and sharing new ideas to make camps better places for staff and campers alike.”

Braselton hosted Camp Collab following a late venue change due to Hurricane Helene’s unexpected impact on Asheville, North Carolina. The conference’s quick adaptation and continued high-impact sessions demonstrated both resilience and commitment to the camp industry.

With an eye on the future, Camp Collab is thrilled to announce a return to Asheville for its 2025 conference, scheduled for October. Our thoughts are with every community in Asheville affected by Hurricane Helene, and we are determined to support these communities by committing to returning the conference to the city in 2025.

Asheville’s rich history and natural beauty offer an ideal setting for an even larger gathering, where new ideas and industry innovations will continue to drive forward the evolution of summer camp culture.
